Coaching with Ravideep Kaur

Individual, focused sessions

Whether you hold a marginalised identity, or you’re in active allyship and want to unlearn your colonial tendencies, coaching with me is a space to take a pause, reflect, and consider a way forward.

Who is this for?

  • It is for you, if you are BIPOC and you are struggling to take up space.

  • It is for you, if you are an ‘activist’ and you're feeling disconnected from yourself.

  • It is for you, if the rejection of racism or othering has impacted the way you show up in the world.

  • It is for you, if you're an individual or a business looking for support with regards to decolonisation, anti-racism or inclusivity.

  • It is for you, if you want to start your decolonisation journey but are feeling overwhelmed.

  • It is for you, if you want to understand the steps towards decolonisation as a way of being in the world.

You can bring anything to our coaching sessions. You may have a clear goal in mind, or you might be looking for support and accountability to take the next step.

“Ravideep is expert at creating a safe space for the discussion of racism - at building trusting relationships that allow for conversations that bring change. Her coaching changed my perspective on antiracism from something to be 'learned' to a series of social and critical thinking skills that I will continue to practice, develop, and share with my family over my lifetime.”

“Working with Ravideep has changed the way I examine my own thoughts and behaviours, interact and converse with the people around me, and to see the ways that I can disrupt institutional injustices. She offers an individualized experience, taking into account different backgrounds, methods, and personalities. Ravideep’s gentle reminders to return to the body were new to me, but ‘e found them so helpful when involved in difficult discussions around racism. It’s an ongoing process, but working with Ravideep has been a foundation I can continue to build on.”

What it's like to coach with me

The benefit of the coaching element is to create a safe container, giving you permission to show up exactly how you are. It’s a rare opportunity to be completely honest about what is coming up for you.

My intention as your coach is to walk with you and to provide a safe space. I’ll guide you to do the work in a way that supports your wellbeing and builds your sense of self trust. This is provided in a gentle, non-judgemental manner.

All coaching sessions are built with an intention of safety and trust and will start with a grounding/breathing exercise to centre oneself and to encourage full presence throughout the session.  I always finish with a short grounding meditation to decompress from the session too :)

As a commitment to providing relevant and accessible support, I offer a sliding scale to a limited number of clients. Please enquire if you need accommodations and I will advise if there is current availability.

“Sometimes experiences are so strongly felt that words can't do them justice. I've been struggling for weeks to come up with words to express my gratitude for Ravideep's work and how I continue to be impacted by it.

Her deep understanding of trauma, identity and racism, filtered through the colonial lens, is profound. Her writing is always an invitation to go deeper, to employ critical observation as we dismantle and unlearn, through which I often feel both truly seen and equally challenged to keep questioning and exploring the constructs of my being.

When I met her, I was holding onto tremendous grief. She made space and held it with me so compassionately. Though our interaction was brief, it left a lasting impression.

Being witnessed and validated by someone possessing real and discerning knowledge of how oppressive systems work (on scales large and small) was an experience that continues to heal and empower. Ravideep, thank you.”

A note about coaching

While coaching is not therapy, I coach within a therapeutic lens, specifically focussing and specialising and centring Black, women of colour, and non-white identifying people and how our experiences are shaped within the intersections of identity, systematic oppression and dominant power structures.

I am trained in a number of therapeutic models including cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focussed, mindfulness and somatics. However, I place a lot of emphasis and focus on self-healing through the decolonisation of our wellbeing and spirituality.  For me, ancestral wisdom and connection is vital to reclaiming power, liberation and healing our intergenerational trauma.

I am also trauma informed and if I recognise (racial) trauma during our coaching calls, I will signpost towards traditional therapeutic interventions and avenues if necessary.
